Alan Baguma joined the firm in 2013 having completed his post graduate diploma in legal practice at Law Development Centre. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Makerere University.
He practices general law with an emphasis on corporate and commercial law as well as energy law.
Alan has worked on a wide variety of matters including working with foreign investment clients providing legal investment and regulatory advice. He has appeared in specialised tribunals such as Electricity Disputes Tribunal and Labour Tribunal where he has attained a keen understanding of the processes involved. He also has experience in matters involving commercial litigation and mediation.
Experience includes:
- Incorporation of local companies seeking to engage in generation, distribution and supply of solar energy as well as renewable energy projects.
- Advised an international company seeking to enter the tobacco industry in Uganda.
- Power purchase agreements and implementation agreements between government and a private company in the energy sector.
- Various commercial litigation matters for corporate clients.
