Janet Ayesigwa has experience in litigation, corporate and finance law. This includes advising clients across banking and finance, mergers and acquisitions and corporate legal advisory. She also handles land transactions, for various financial institutions, including drafting of security documents.
She joined the firm in 2011 and practices in the corporate and commercial department. She has worked on a wide variety of matters providing general transactional advice and is engaged in a variety of litigation matters.
She holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Uganda Christian University and is licenced to practice in the courts of Uganda.
- Advising a large company contracted as agents of the then Kampala City Council in a suit challenging the validity of parking fees levied by the Council.
- Advising on the legality of the Central Bank of Uganda directive to have the Financial Card System and CRB managed by separate legal entities.
- Part of the team of lawyers that advised Bloomberg on the regulatory framework for the Bloomberg FX Systems in Uganda.
- Advised a large manufacturing company on a loan facility transaction from a regional bank.
